My new thought provoking writing task is to discuss what I love about SearchWarp.

I have given this considerable contemplation over the past few months and I find the topic simple and straightforward to answer. In order to get to the point, however, I must first give a little background.

Originally, I started writing again to share my horse knowledge with others and to connect with my website customers. Since my moniker has always been The Old Gray Mare, it was only natural that I continued my writings using that name.

On my website, I created pages exclusively dedicated to “The Old Gray Mare Articles” and started adding my stories. I discovered several public writers’ sites that were seeking good articles and started adding mine here and there. Before much time had passed, my popularity picked up.

It was in this way that I discovered SearchWarp. I decided to join, and fortunately was accepted as a writer. Soon I was adding article after article and formed a small fan base. I realized from the beginning that I was writing because Snoopy TypesI enjoyed it, because I was seeking the publicity, and mostly because SearchWarp allowed a slightly different platform for my articles.

Having given you, dear Reader, my background thinking, I can now tell you precisely why I love SearchWarp.

One of the first things I did after I joined up, of course, was to add articles. And then I explored the site. One of the first people I met, and of whom I became a fan immediately, was Bruce Horst. From the beginning, he was welcoming, direct and very kind. I found him very approachable – a trait that I have always considered important in a persona and in my business dealings. I also firmly believe in being treated as well as I treat others. I was impressed by this personal and sincere approach by both Horsts, since Jean and Bruce together are remarkable in all they do and accomplish at SearchWarp.

I spent time on the Birthday Page and in the Readers’ Club. I read quite a lot during those first days. Readers and comments on my articles were not happening and I rightfully surmised that it was the subject – horses.

The subject didn’t always have to be horses, I decided, and before too long I was penning some other topics. I’ve never looked back.

Since those earlier days, I found myself away from the site for a long time. I’m not sure why or what made me come back to SearchWarp, but I did. I picked up where I left off. It was now a done deal - I decided that I will take what time I can find and participate. I dropped some of the other sites and devoted considerably more time to SearchWarp. Little by little I reestablished connections. Today, I’m certainly glad I did.

My fan base remains small. However, I have amazing fans that I prefer to call supporters. They read horse articles and comment. They encourage and praise, give constructive criticism and are generally a remarkable group of people that I have come to appreciate, respect and value.

When all is said and done, I decided to remain with SearchWarp because of the quality of both the people and their writings. Bar none, I enjoy their company and would not hesitate to meet a great many of them if they lived nearby. If we had a SearchWarp Toastmasters, or a Writers’ Club, and my fans were members, I would join them.

I could go elsewhere and get money for my articles but I choose to belong to SearchWarp. I love it here, enjoy the people, feel supported and have met some remarkable human beings on this site whose opinions and feelings I highly respect and solicit.

Thanks for the kind words, OGM. We're really glad that you feel like you belong here, because you do! You are an expert in your field, and though a lot of us have rarely gotten to experience horses, we feel like we do through your words.

I'm just telling it like it is! SearchWarp is a wonderful site on which to publish, but it's really the community - including you - that makes it for the faithful to SW. I was hoping we'd draw in some more horse people, but there's a lot of blogging and sites for us and they're doing a lot of their own thing. Anyway, I'm a belonger.
