Christmas is approaching. It’s only six weeks away and we all know how fast these crazy days will pass by in our busy lives. So, hark, all you insanely preoccupied people! Make your plans, your Christmas lists, purchase gifts, hit your favorite online stores, order, tweak your personal and business calendars, and magically fit everything into your already hectic schedule.

You may think or say aloud, “But Heidi, it’s only fall. It’s too early to prepare for Christmas. We just got through with Halloween. Thanksgiving isn’t here yet.”

Well, I am here to tell you that it doesn’t matter. From here on out, nothing can save you from the swirling days of frenzied activities that come before the holidays, Thanksgiving included. For that reason, I’m getting ready to mail my letter to Santa. There are a great many important things that I wish would happen in the world so I’m penning my hopeful letter early this year.

Dear Santa,

I have been a very good girl this year. You will be especially proud of me. I love this time of year and cannot wait until you make your annual trip again. I’ll be sure to leave cookies and milk if you decide to have a quick snack.

Our family is blessed and very fortunate to have everything we want and love. We have our horses and everything is going gangbusters. It’s time to request your special help for some people of the world that need assistance.

It is my biggest wish that you could use your influence with the great Creator to find ways to help those less fortunate than we are. It would be wonderful if those without jobs could find some, that those who are broke find an honest resource, that the unhealthy get healed, that cruelty to others and animals can abate. Many of us have lost our way and we need guidance and nurturing.

My next heartfelt wish is for the animals because they are helpless in the onslaught of human abuse and neglect. Intervention is required to spare them pain and cruelty. Save horses, dogs and all animals from hurt, neglect, mistreatment and cruel death. Help us rescue animals in any distress, prevent the murders of innocent unwanted pets, find forever homes for our horses, dogs, cats and all animals and enable human hearts to soften. Aid in our efforts to save the wild horses and permit them their meager existence. Prevent the inhumanity in our slaughter houses and, in fact, educate us about all the suffering.

Dear Santa, Christmas is your day to shine in the eyes of the world as you travel it with lightning speed and the blessings of our Creator. You thrill and bestow us with magical memories. My wishes are a tall order, I know. If only you can intercede and help in any way. Then it will be up to us.

Seriously, I know how lucky I am to live here and to be able to feed and house my family and animals.

I would like to pass along my wishes for a bright future and peace, love and harmony to all. Special love for you, Santa!

With love,

/Signed/ Heidi
