Are there still any All My Children soap opera lovers out there?

I have been a long-time All My Children aficionado. It was a huge disappointment to me when this soap was cut from the ranks of the remaining soap operas. Good grief, I just about cut my teeth on this drama and have been through all the ups and downs of the families in Pine Valley since the beginning.
Back then, All My Children was on for 30 minutes only. I’ve seen characters come and go, situations simmer to boiling points, people die and (somehow) get resurrected, and all good/bad things soap operas are made of. At times the Pine Valley story lines were far fetched – I mean how many doubles and/or twins can there be in one smallish town and exactly how many amazing coincidences?
Apparently a licensing agreement was worked out that keeps this soap and also One Life to Live in front of a viewing audience. The only difference is where it can be watched. Instead of All My Children (my soap and the only one of interest to me) showing on a TV network, it can be seen on PC starting in January. Of course, I’m happy about this. TV versus PC – no matter – I’m ready!
The two programs will be produced by Prospect Park in online formats or internet-enabled television programming. “Under the terms of the arrangement, the programs will continue to be delivered with the same quality and in the same format and length,” according to a spokesman from Prospect Park.
When you think about it, the stories and characters have been developed over 40 years. Audiences and I have grown to like them and have viewed them for all that time. All My Children is a television icon, as is One Life to Live.
“I’m just so happy that ABC found a home where the legacies of ‘All My Children’ and ‘One Life to Live’ can continue. I’m excited for their future with Prospect Park,” said Agnes Nixon, creator of both “All My Children” and “One Life to Live.”
She goes on, “I am happy for our loyal fans, whom we love so much, and who have been supportive over the last 40 plus years.”
I know that All My Children and its stars have been awarded the Emmy a great many times. It has featured contemporary social issues including AIDS, spousal abuse, homosexuality, organ donations, alcoholism, drug abuse, racial bias and more. All My Children has a real life Iraq war veteran “whose story reflects his real life experiences and injuries incurred in combat.”

For years I set my lunch hour around the time that All My Children aired. Then, when I discovered the Soap Net station on cable, I was able to view the show in the evening if I missed it during the day. Considering this is the only show that was a “must” to see during the week, it was a luxury hour I permitted myself. I must add that while I did not become addicted to the show, I surely miss it and cannot wait until it airs again.
So, for any of you that are All My Children fans, the show will start where it left off in January.
I have made my first New Year’s resolution. Can you guess what it is? Better yet, do you think I’ll keep that one? Yes and Yes.

I may be sitting in the saddle but I'm not really riding. Am struggling along but it's not there if you get the meaning. I haven't been able to get the horse stuff written and to like it. Scrapped lots. Appreciate though!
